Learn to Skate

Ice skating is a graceful and beautiful sport that is fun for everyone of all ages and levels. Our Ice Skating programs are taught by experienced and nurturing instructors who provide skilled development lessons.

Notes
* These are group lessons of 45 minutes duration followed by 45 minutes of practice time. Lessons are on a casual basis with no booking required, or you may purchase an 8 week semester Skate School card for $132.00. This card includes 8 Learn to Skate lessons and 8 Public Sessions to practice, and has a limited time of use (usually 12 months).

Playgroup

If you are looking for something a bit different to entertain your tiny tots and give them an opportunity to interact, play and participate with other children on ice, then our Playgroup program is for you!

Our qualified staff and safe surroundings provide loads of fun and an excellent experience for you and your children. At the same time it allows the parents to get out and meet our friendly ice rink staff and other parents. Details on the Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink Playgroup program is below.

Notes
• With ice skating, students will fall over from time to time. Whilst most falls are harmless and students are taught how to fall to minimize injury, there is always the possibility, as with any sport, that a fall will result in a student injury. Students should wear the protective helmets which are available or bring their own cycling helmet. The ice is cold so students may want to bring gloves. Students are encouraged to wear Roller Blading elbow, knee pads and wrist guards.

• Parents are encouraged to participate, cost is $2.00
• 8 weeks at a cost of $50.00 is also available.
